Proteintrail is a tech based startup established originally with a view to sanitize the red meat value chain in Nigeria by facilitating and strengthening due diligence in the systems that transfer edible meat and its byproducts from farm to fork. The modus operandi is to take advantage of advances in information and communication technology including artificial intelligence to digitalize and coordinate the various systems in the production, distribution and supply within the value chain.
As the systems were developed, it became clear that other value chains like aquatic animal, sheep and goat, pork, camel etc (all collectively described as first class protein sources) including fruits and vegetables could benefit immensely from our progressive activity. To this end, the vision received an upgrade and so did our standard operating procedure.
